Lost Order is an attempt to show change encountered by a static object through motion. The word fixed is literally static, but giving the word motion in space paradoxically contradicts the literal quality of the word.
Unless it breaks apart, the movement of the word doesn’t justify its motion. This installation is a visual representation of the juxtaposition of the physical and literal qualities of an object which contradict each other.
This piece has traveled through several towns in upstate New York. The changes of seasons are also evident. Again, the changes that both the piece and the environment experience are important. It’s not just the piece evolving, but also the places through which it is traveling, and even the journey itself. Despite the changes, the piece and the places stay the same.
