Collide i+i is a multi-component living exhibition featuring participatory and interactive ephemera designed to honor 100 years of institutional history at Rowan University. It is led by Assistant Professor Mina Zarfsaz from the Department of Art and students from various disciplines.

Collide i+i unfolded in three main components:
April 22, 2024: Cosmic Light Maps: A Time Portal Poesis
An Earth Day event, part of “Collide i + i”–a public engagement exhibition celebrating 100 years of Rowan University's rich history–transforming 100 historical portraits from Rowan Archives (Self-submitted from 1929-1957) into cosmic constellations projected onto the exterior facade of the Edelman Planetarium. A musical performance by talented Rowan student complemented this interactive stargazing event. The wider community was invited to share their predictions and hopes for a collective future and interact with the cosmic constellations.

Sep 2023_May 2024: Poesis Fossilis
Part of “Collide i + i”–a public engagement exhibition celebrating 100 years of Rowan University's rich history–Haiku and Tanka contributions by professor emerita and former dean of the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts, Antoinette Libro, are spread throughout the campus landscape as materialized etchings on rocks, serving as treasures to be discovered in the future.
Part of “Collide i + i”–a public engagement exhibition celebrating 100 years of Rowan University's rich history–Haiku and Tanka contributions by professor emerita and former dean of the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts, Antoinette Libro, are spread throughout the campus landscape as materialized etchings on rocks, serving as treasures to be discovered in the future.
These haikus are also paired with sufi poems as limited series posters. (special ordered 17x22”)
May 2023_June 2024: How to FOLLOW [like a river]
As part of “Collide i + i” – a public engagement exhibition celebrating 100 years of Rowan University's rich history – a guided meditation accompanies the Meditation Walk. Accessible on mobile devices, this approximately half-mile experience reveals textual, visual, animated and auditory ephemera in augmented reality (AR), juxtaposed to the physical landscape. Inspired by indigenous philosophies that harmonize with the environment, it invites the participants to tune in to nature, moving inwards to and outwards from our bodies.
